JOB SUMMARY

Provide telephonic and onsite health and wellness education based on individual and employer group health and lifestyle risks. Communicate effectively the need for specific programs and interventions for individuals and/or employer group based on health status and readiness to change. Assist participants to progress through the development of goals, action plans and relapse prevention plans to meet their lifestyle needs and to motivate them to engage in wellness programming. Provide an evaluation of the individual's current health status and effectiveness of the strategies and interventions in achieving the proposed outcomes and goals. Provide an assessment of at-risk members and referral to appropriate resources and programs. Assist in development of an employer group organizational wellness strategy based on their health risk assessment summary. Lead in development and delivery of wellness programs, including group coaching programs, group education curriculum on a wide variety of wellbeing topics, administration of incentive programs and worksite activities. Regularly evaluate and measure the success of wellness programs based on participant satisfaction and impact on health and wellness outcomes. Provide insight and consultation to employers on wellness initiatives based on best practice.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

A qualified candidate possesses strong client consultation and project management skills as it relates to corporate wellness strategic plan creation and implementation. This position also includes facilitation of group coaching programs to include the Diabetes Prevention Program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Must have the ability to schedule a variety of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gathering and summarizing data for client reports. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Ability to facilitate small group discussion and comfort with large-group public speaking. Commitment to maintaining confidential notes on interactions with employees and charting details. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work and interact with clients, agents and departments throughout the organization. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current health education practices, behavior change methodologies, HIPPA, ADA and other Federal regulatory guidelines for corporate wellness programs. Proficient with web based application searches to keep at the forefront of wellness promotion and initiatives.Non-exempt position. Will work primarily day hours. Travel will be required. Valid driver’s license required. Will be exposed to communicable or infectious disease, hazardous materials and injury from performance of assigned duties. Is subject to multiple sensory and environmental stressors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, Dietetics, Nutrition, Exercise Science or other health-related field. Will consider a Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Organizational Development, or Psychology with an interest in wellness promotion. Certification in Wellness Coaching within one year. Valid Driver's License required. Experience in individual and/or telephonic counseling for lifestyle conditions including weight management, tobacco cessation, nutrition and stress management helpful.
